Hello all, We used youtube to watch several videos in class. What do you think of using youtube in the classroom? Have you ever seen it done before? Does it work? Is it a good tool? Why or why not?
I believe that YouTube is an excellent source for in-class information. There are people who have all types of needs in order to learn. The visual level of learning is covered with YouTube videos. I think that it is a TOOL and it is up to the student to use it correctly or not.
I think using youtube in the classroom is great, i have seen it done in other classrooms and i can safely say that it is an amzing tool to use as an example for anything, because it really materializes anything that you can think of into the video and can find anything you are looking for
Think of it like this. How helpful is watching a video in class on a TV? What's the difference if it's on a computer, it's just a change of devices we use. Sure there may be distractions if we watch a video individually on our separate computers, but there are many options around that, we could watch a youtube video on the big screen projector like we just did. That worked just as well if not better than a small screen TV for the entire class. It's just an upgrade in technology, i mean who likes not being able to actually find the VHS you want to teach in class.
Youtube has been essential in the class Dr. Schmoll teaches. I told my parents about the way my English class is taught and it is nothing like how high school teaches it. It is very essential and everyone's mind does get to work by making us think really hard on certain topics like opioning on someones statement such as a wise "Latina" can make better decisions than a white man would.
I like using youtube in class, because it helps understanding a topic.Also because the whole class has something to say while we were watching videos in youtube.
I like using youtube in class.Just last week we were working on seeing how music was concidered to be a piece of art or not. We looked at some music videos and argued on wether it succeeded as a piece of music or not. Using youtube is cool :D
I do not know what to think about this because this class was the first time that I used Youtube in the classroom. So I can respond when I have more information.
i think you tube is a good tool to use because it has a lot stuff on there that can relate to different things as far as education and things outside of school.
I think it is a great idea to use youtube in class. As long as no one is doing anything inappropriate and staying on their job then they should get the subject that in pertains to just fine.
YouTube can be a helpful tool depending on how you use it. There are a lot of videos that anyone around the world can post, so they are not always accurate. I have never seen another class use YouTube before.
I think is an awsome tool to use youtube in class... It helps to visualize the topic of what we are arguing about... even though we may get distracted... it helps us to get a better understanding of the theme... After we see what the theme is about we may have very different points... that we can argue.... Oh... If i was that jellyfish i would tell that man to quit taking pictures or I would have to sting him....hahahaha...0_0.....

i'dknow. I guess it could be used, but I cant imagine that it would be that useful. It is up to the teacher to be creative and find a use for it, I guess.
youtube is the best tool for english class because you can talk about everything and argue about it to.
